A Trip to the Zoo

Well, Allyson has had a big weekend. On Saturday, Hank and I and some friends of ours ventured to the zoo in Waco. It was a fairly hot day, but it felt nice in the shade and they had lots of air conditioned exhibits. You might ask"what does an 8 month old think of the zoo"? If you answered, "not much" you would be right. Hank said it probably would have helped if she knew her animals and thier sounds. You think?!! She did enjoy looking at the fish in the walk-through aquarium, though. That was her favorite part. And I think she actually liked sitting by the cheetah! I was'nt sure what she would do when we sat her up there. She just watched it walk back and forth. It kind of creeped me out though, it's not every day there is a wild animal standing directly behind my baby!! She was only there long enough for the picture believe me!! It was a fun day and I'm sure we will go back when Allyson has learned all of her animals and can appreciate them a little more!!

Thou shallt not lust.......

Okay my cousin Dustin requested to hear about something crazy Hank has done or seen at the hospital so here goes. This month he is working in the ER so you can just imagine what comes in at all hours of the night. I think this one will top them all for the month. One night this week a man comes in with his "thing" cut off. He did it himself because he said he did not want to lust anymore!! Well, the man panics and brings "it" in for them to sew back on. They sewed "it" back on, but the next day "it" died and they had to take "it" back off. There was no hope for "it". The poor guy is left with no "it" for the rest of his life. And the worst part is, he is still going to go on lusting. This story was even on the 6 o'clock news!!

Very First Entry

Hello friends and family! I am so excited I came across this blog website! I did'nt realize it was so easy to set one up! I thought you had to be some Acxiom computer whiz to be able to do this!! Well, like the title says this blog will probably be "All About Allyson" because she's the center of our world now you know!! Although, there will be an occasional update/story about Hank or myself. I won't leave us out totally. So feel free to check in with our little family of three anytime. I'll try my best to keep this up to date so you won't get bored with us!!

Mother's Day

I was very excited about my very first Mother's Day!! I have wondered if this day would ever come for some time. Even when I was a little girl I would wonder if I would ever get to be the "Mother" on Mother's Day. Well, it was even more special than I thought it would be!! Hank was very sweet and took us out to eat at Red Lobster, one of my very favorite restaurants, on Saturday night. Then after church on Sunday we went and ate some yummy mexican food. And, that's not all of Daddy Hank's surprises, he took me to get some ice cream for a Sunday night treat!! It was a wonderful day and I will never forget it! Now I can't wait for Father's Day!!
